A Message from Youth Farm Board Chair, Kenny

Dear Youth Farm community,

We are thrilled to announce the appointment of our new Executive Director, David Hamilton.
David is joining Youth Farm with a wealth of experience, a fresh perspective, and a passion for our mission: farming to grow food, community, and most importantly, young leaders.

David has over two decades of leadership experience in the nonprofit sector, which began with his role as the Executive Director of Access Works – a harm reduction-based needle exchange organization dedicated to providing services for drug users and addressing health equity. David also served as the Director of International Travel Seminars and Operations Director at the Center for Global Education and Experience, a social justice-based organization affiliated with Augsburg University. In a more recent role, David served as the Executive Director for The Cedar Cultural Center, a mission-driven global music performance venue committed to fostering intercultural understanding.

Throughout his career, David has prioritized advancing Racial Equity and Inclusion initiatives, and is a Qualified Administer for the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI). David also holds an MA in African History from the University of Minnesota and a Mini-MBA for Nonprofit Organizations from the University of St. Thomas.

Now, David is thrilled to embark on a new chapter with Youth Farm, where he will focus on nurturing youth leadership, promoting urban farming, and advocating for the food justice movement. You’ll hear more from David in the coming months – for now, we invite you to join us in welcoming him to the Youth Farm community!

Thank you for your continued support and dedication to our mission and work. Together, let’s cultivate a just and sustainable world where every young person can learn, lead, and thrive!

Warm regards,

Kenny
