The Robert Street garden is just over 4,00 square feet of garden space, large enough that years ago when starting the garden we used a tractor to turn the soil for the first time. Over the 10-ish years Youth Farm has been growing in Robert, the garden has produced thousands of pounds of food for youth and their families.
This spring and summer the Robert street garden has been a highlight for the West Side Program especially because a little over a year ago the garden was in need of some serious love. The garden would not look the way it does today without the dedication of our staff and community volunteer groups. Special thanks to Conservation Corps, Target, Avalon school, and Community of Peace Academy for all of the work they put in this fall and spring prepping this garden.
