Surprising Harvests

As the growing comes to a close, we are putting more of the beds to rest for the winter. This morning, the last of the basil, squash, and watermelon plants were put into the compost pile, but we found one last watermelon that looks like it might still be good. Even with all the cold weather, the tomato and pepper plants still look pretty good, and we harvested a few this morning, along with an abundance of broccoli, and the first of the fall peas.

After school cooking classes start next week at Jackson from 3:15-4:45 pm (437 W Edmund Ave).
