John has practiced law since 2007, working in-house and growing his professional career with the American Academy of Neurology, a professional association comprised of 30,000 neurologists and neuroscience professionals dedicated to promoting the highest quality patient-centered neurologic care. John provides counsel to further the organization’s mission, minimize legal risk and costs, reduce litigation exposure, and ensure compliance. A lover of good food, John enjoys venturing out to new restaurants with friends and family. At home, he’s trying to learn the ropes from his wife Lindsey, an excellent cook. They enjoy each meal with their daughters, Mae and Georgie, and their 100lb Pyrenees-mix, Oliver.

Alex is a James Beard Award winning Chef, Restaurantuer, and is a long time supporter of Youth Farm through events and guest chef appearances in our kitchens.
Patti Hague, Treasurer
Independent Nonprofit Consultant
Patti is currently a nonprofit consultant specializing in interim leadership, change management, and staffing analysis. Patti’s last full-time position was Operations Director for Hearth Connection (a supportive housing intermediary addressing long-term homelessness). She has also held leadership positions at Big Brothers Big Sisters, HealthPartners (Community Relations), and the American Red Cross. Prior to that she spent 8 years in the field of disability advocacy. Patti has served on the boards of the Minnesota Council on Foundations, HealthPartners, Minnesota Environmental Fund and Philanthrofund Foundation. Patti lives with her spouse Barbara in Minneapolis where they have a large vegetable and flower garden. Besides gardening, she enjoys reading and traveling as well as spending time with her two adult daughters.
Research & Development Manager, Natural & Organic Dairy Brands, General Mills
Kenny has been working professionally with food since 2000 in areas including food safety, manufacturing management, quality assurance, and new product development. Currently, he leads the team responsible for developing new recipes and packages for natural and organic dairy foods. He brings a passion for food and nutrition access and community engagement to the Youth Farm Board. Originally from New York, Kenny now lives in Minneapolis’ North Loop where he enjoys exploring Twin Cities and their outstanding restaurants with friends.
Event Manager, Hyatt Regency Minneapolis
Genevieve has worked for Hyatt Hotels for almost 18 years in Food & Beverage Operations and Event Planning. An avid volunteer, she also head’s up her hotel’s Thrive Committee, Hyatt’s community service and corporate responsibility initiative. A few of Genevieve’s most favorite things are spending time with her husband and 3 children, cooking, eating and sunshine. As a south Texas native, she’s not a huge fan of Minnesota winters!
Valeria La Rosa
Program Manager, Life time Foundation
Valeria La Rosa joined the Life Time Foundation team in October 2014. She previously did development work for Make-A-Wish Minnesota for over ten years. Passionate about promoting a healthy way of life, Val joined the Life Time Foundation, where she is responsible for establishing and maintaining school and partner relationships. She is dedicated to the mission of bringing fresh and real food to school children.
Teen Resource Center Coordinator, Neighborhood House
Shanna has been a part of Youth Farm since she was 8 years old. She has been involved in every aspect of Youth Farm’s programming throughout the years and has a passion for Youth Development that is second to none. Now a leader in Youth Work at Neighborhood House, she brings over 15 years of experience of Youth Farm Programming to the board.
Teacher, Whittier International Elementary School
Alex Lange works as a teacher for Minneapolis Public Schools. He began his education work through Minnesota Reading Corps and currently teaches 5th grade at Whittier International Elementary School. He has worked with youth of all ages in educational and after school settings. He loves the excitement of food and community that can be found in community and school gardens.
