We were beyond honored to receive support from the Schwan’s Corporate Giving Foundation last night at Schwan’s Feast on the Field event, a celebration in partnership with the Minnesota Super Bowl Host Committee to honor the people, the food and the cultural traditions that distinguish the Bold North, as well as a celebration of Schwan’s Company’s 65th Anniversary and their commitment to the community. We look forward to our partnership and utilizing these resources to do great work and support amazing youth leaders in the Twin Cities!

Youth Farm!

As the weather starts to get colder (sort of), it is nice to have reasons to think back to the awesome summer we had this year at Youth Farm. We were honored to have Jeffrey Zupfer, a Youth Farm parent and West Side resident, come and work with some of our Youth Farmers and produce a short video and song for Youth Farm. We are so very thankful to Jeff and all the West Side Youth Farmers for putting together a great video and song.

Thanks to Congressman Keith Ellison for visiting Youth Farm

Our Lyndale Youth Farm enjoyed hosting Congressman Keith Ellison on Friday night at their Lyndale School Farm. In addition to touring the Congressman around their farm and sampling their produce, they talked to the Congressman about food policy, college aspirations, and their favorite vegetables. We really appreciate the Congressman taking time to visit, ask great questions, and engage our young leaders at Youth Farm.

Youth Farm partners with urbanNATURES

urbanNATURES LogoWe are really excited to announce our partnership with urbanNATURES Jewelry company. Like most partnerships, our somewhat seemingly random partnership started with a phone call and a Minnesota connection, but provides Youth Farm a unique opportunity to expand our reach. As they describe their company, “Created to be artistic, eclectic and authentic, every urbanNATURES design is carefully handcrafted with the highest level of workmanship and quality. We support community initiatives, and are proud to say that most of our products are handmade by local artisans in the USA.” They have a strong commitment to community service and hope, and will be donating 15% of their proceeds to Youth Farm indefinitely, highlighting our work on their website blog, and providing opportunities for Youth Farm to extend our reach. If you want to check out their jewelry or learn more about our partnership, check out urbanNATURES.com

Youth Farm recognized as one of the 15 most impactful food orgs in MN

IMG_0375Youth Farm is honored to be named one of the top 15 most impactful food organizations in Minnesota in the latest MN Sights Magazine, and highlighted as one of the only Youth focused organizations on the list. All of us at Youth Farm take our role as healthy food growers, distributors, cookers, and eaters seriously. All of these roles within our neighborhoods are important roles of stewardship that should not be seen as isolated from community, but integrated into all that we do and who we are. Come visit one of our sites this summer and check it out in action.
