Last weekend we had an overnight retreat with our Project LEAD interns from across all five neighborhoods. The theme of the retreat was creating emotionally safe spaces at Youth Farm. One of our activities focused on recreating scenarios where young people may feel emotionally unsafe. Project LEAD represented these scenes in art form to recognize how staff and youth can overcome barriers to create safer spaces. Below are paintings created by Calla, Rosario, Doua Ci, and Alyssa that represent a theme of exclusion.
